This is a quality 12 inch knife honing steel. Honing steels are gre3at for straightening rolled knife edges, but are not ideal to sharpen a dull knife. All edges are prone to rolling, so having a steel to hone your knife edges means sharpening less often.
If you prefer to use a rod to sharpen with when your knives are blunt, we recommend using a Diamond Sharpening Rod.
